Where have I been???

Wow so its been a while since I last updated my blog, but I promise I have great excuses! I've been working at my dad's office and for my aunt's super cool restaurant! Okay so these aren't the super awesome excuses I promised but you'll forgive me...right? Any ways I promise I will update more often!
So besides working my summer away (exaggeration I only work 30 hours max. a week) I have 20 days until I move back to EKU! Super awesome and a tad bit stressful. My mom being the super planner and organizer she is made us (dad and I) spend a saturDAY a week ago at Bed, Bath and Beyond....oh yay! Besides the fact that I really hate getting dorm room stuff, it was super crowded and I ran into at least 10 people, because I am a great cart driver when I'm trying to pick out coffee flavors and bath mats at the same time. While I'm totally ready to get back to Rich to see my friends and Bible study again, I'm not too excited about the 18 hours I signed up for.....I mean honestly do I strike you as the 8am microeconomics and 10am bio type? That answer should be a big fat NO.
While I could rant on and on about getting ready to go back to school, I should probably get to the point of the post. So here we go its Jesus time!
Earlier this summer before I had my wisdom teeth taken out I made a list of verses, chapters and books that I wanted to dig into. So I made this "list" and here is part of it and why I thought I should study it.
1. Ezra: (don't judge me) My love for Pretty Little Liars is crazy, and my favorite couple is Aria and Ezra, so even while I was on a crazy sleep schedule from my surgery I looked up youtube videos, and what did I find Ezra is a book in the Old Testament.....I can just hear you now, wow really? you didn't know that.....you see I'm not really an Old Testament reader. So anyways as soon as I heard this I was like whoa! really? I must check this out, and low and behold. they weren't lying and the next next day my mom was talking about Ezra 10:4 "Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it." I have no clue what she was saying about it (heavily medicated) but I really liked it so I but it on the list and I'm glad I did! I love it! Not to give to much about it because my next post will be about it but.....you have something to look forward to.
2. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8: Honestly do I have to explain why I love this? What girl doesn't dream of this being read at their wedding? Which is exactly why I thought I should put it on my list, this summer was my first experience of having a "wedding season" and I heard it several times. Although I do love hearing this at weddings, anytime I hear it I instantly think of a wedding and I highly doubt that when Paul wrote this letter to the Corinthians his intentions were for them to use this at weddings only, in fact I know that when Paul's letter to the Corinthians was to help them deal with the problems in their walk personally and as a whole (the church) as Christians, thank you Dr. Watkins in Christianity 193. He wrote 13:4-8 to tell them about God's love for them, and how powerful it is. I totally encourage everyone to reread and look at 13: 4-8 not as if someone is reading it to you, but like God is saying it to you!
Well friends! I have to go, partly because I'm running out of things to say, but mostly because the "staff" meeting I was left out of is over and I need to go finish my project with my team! So goodbye for now, I'll post soon!

April Snow Showers Kill May Flowers

Everyone has heard the rhyme, “April showers bring May flowers". I thought I would it was ironic that after yesterday’s post about spring that it snowed today, yes snowed! I actually contemplated wearing my winter coat after freezing walking across the wind tunnel of a campus I have to deal with.

So I usually talk about how awesome Jesus is! And although he clearly is today I’m going to update you all on my life, I know you’re so excited to read all about what has been going on in my life. Over the past few months things have been snowballing out of control it sometimes feels like and almost nothing is the same as it was at the beginning of the semester.

Here’s a little backstory, I attended EKU last semester as you know and I came home to lead Young Life because well that was my plan but sometimes plans change. In the midst of the semester I decided to go back to the lovely Rich City and go back to EKU!
I do miss my pals I made while in leadership training, but luckily I still have the chance to see them quite often!

Well I had more I wanted to say but I should really get to sleep, I have to make a trip to EKU for a 10 minute “advising” meeting, yes I’m driving an hour and forty-seven minutes to meet with my advisor, luckily I will get to see my lovely friends while I’m there an according to Natti she’ll treat me to upstairs Powell!....my lucky day haha!

I’m going to turn in, enjoy your day tomorrow!
Laugh, sing in your car and pray…sounds like the perfect day!

Avoiding Homework!

It’s the awkward time in the semester where all your professors think your life revolves around their class and their class only, it’s so frustrating! Anyways so after studying for the past 5ish hours I decided to take a little break and update my blog!
Spring has sprung! Which is exciting for many reasons, the sun starts shinning, the birds come back, flowers bloom and the gray skies turn blue. With all that is going on with school this time of year, it’s hard sometimes to take a step back and realize the beauty that lies within the new season. Just look around outside, what once was dead is now alive, and God made it that way….how awesome?!?!
I was sitting in religion class, I think, where someone said, has anyone ever realized that Easter comes in spring? It’s like a sign from God, your faith is restored anything that was dead comes alive, even Jesus! Although it’s an elementary concept it’s still an amazing thought!
I’m leaving you with that note! Enjoy the season for everything and open your eyes to what God has created!

It's been too long...

Wow! It's been a few months since I last updated this. According to my cousin in order to run a proper Blog you must update every day, obviously I do not run a proper blog! haha
I do have "reasons" for not updating, I transferred, twice this semester, moved back home and have so much going on, that it's been hard to keep up.
I promise, that I will have a new "real blog" up by the end of the week!!

Reindeer Food and the Santa Tracker

Merry Christmas Eve!
It’s been a few days since I updated you all. Tonight my family and I went to the Roell Christmas and I’m waiting until midnight for mass. Tonight I’m writing to you about someone that is really special to me, someone who loves Christmas probably more than I do, which is a lot, you know or will know by the end of this who you are.
When I was younger, I never felt like we got along you being 13 years older than, I was in kindergarten and you were going to prom, I remember seeing pictures of you in your blue sequined dress (it was the 90’s I won't judge)  and thinking I want to be like you. As I’ve gotten older we have become closer, and you have helped me through a lot of things, whether you know it or not. But it wasn’t until recently and a great thing called facebook that we have gotten really close.
You have put up with me through my moody younger years, me on caffeine (not a good thing), and my Amish Awareness stories. You give so much to everyone and expect nothing in return. You are always positive and remind me of how blessed our family is.
Tonight you told me to write about traditions we do on Christmas Eve, but I thought that was boring, so I decided to write to you and say thank you for everything you do for me, staying up late to talk, and always being there for me, you remind us all that we are blessed but we are all truly blessed to have you in our family.
I love you! Have a great Christmas, and I’m totally addicted you the Santa Tracker now…thanks a lot

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

I've always been one of those people who start the Christmas season the day after Thanksgiving. I love Black Friday Shopping, watching old Christmas Movies, constantly listening to Christmas music and spending time with my family. I love for things to look like they came out of a Martha Stewart catalog; I wrap my gifts with big bows and bake cupcakes from scratch. Christmas in my eyes has to be perfect.
Every year I spend the weekends leading up to Christmas shopping for various family members gifts. Spending all that time at the malls I find myself pointing out things to my parents that I like, knowing they will usually buy it for me. I turn shopping for others into “shopping for Sam” which sadly none of this goes towards my Christmas presents. I always tell them I feel bad, but normally I just say it to make myself feel better I never really mean it. On top of our shopping trips I still expect big gifts, perfectly wrapped gifts under the tree.
But this doesn’t seem right anymore, maybe I’m growing up or maybe things are finally clicking but this year I want my Christmas to be more about Christ and less about me, after all he is the greatest gift.

Every good and perfect gift is from above. -James 1:17 NIV

I'm here!

I never thought I would actually make a blog, but here it is and I'm ready to start "blogging"!
